Leisure Day

Nainital, known as the lake of three sages, has origins rooted in ancient mythology. Legend has it that sages Atri, Pulastya, and Pulaha created the lake by transferring water from Mansarovar. Another tale suggests it formed from the eye of Lord Shiva's wife, Sati. P. Barron, a British merchant, popularized Nainital in 1839, building Pilgrim’s Cottage. Today, Nainital charms visitors with its central lake and forested surroundings. Enjoy leisure time exploring Naini Lake and Mall road before retiring to your hotel for the night.

Nainital Local Sightseeing

Nainital, also referred to as the "lake of three sages," has its roots in antiquated legend. The lake was supposedly formed by the sages Atri, Pulastya, and Pulaha by moving water from Mansarovar. Another story has it that it sprung from Lord Shiva's wife Sati's eye. Pilgrim's Cottage was constructed in 1839 by British businessman P. Barron, who promoted Nainital. Nainital still enchants tourists today with its lake in the middle and its surrounding forests. Before heading back to your accommodation for the evening, spend some free time touring Mall Road and Naini Lake.
